Chapter 3 Themes
In this chapter Nick shows us the experience of his first visit at Gatsby's house for a party. You can see the corruption in the party as most of the people come uninvited to this large and wild party, as alcholic beverages are served throughout the night as well. This chapter It also shows the lack of a relationship and proper communication that Gatsby has with his visitors. "Sometimes they came and went without having met Gatsby at all, came for a party with a simplicity of heart that was its own ticket of admission" (p.45). The American Dream mindset is extremely evident as people come to Gatsby's house to live in the moment, drink, and have a good time (most people not even recieving an official invitation). Only concerned with having a night to remember and taking advantage of Gatsby's kindness, most people at the party exhibit the carefree mindset typical of those chasing the American dream.

I agree, it's very clear that the idea of the American dream is extremely evident in this chapter. You go, Tim!
I think this chapter shows a lot of how the American dream was corruption. The people are so carefree that aren't even bothered by not knowing their host.
Perhaps the whole party is just a symbol for the American Dream? I agree with Juliana, there was a lot of corruption at the party.
I like how you mentioned that the party was very corrupt and was not like the American dream at all
This whole party displays the American Dream very well if you think about that. Your whole post clearly recognizes that and it is very easy to realize.
Once again, I think some of your responses need to have a little more thought or connections.
What does it say about Gatsby that he allows these people in his home and doesn't even know them? Why is he having all of these lavish parties? Is the American Dream about being at parties without knowing people or having parties where you don't know anyone?
