Chapter 5 Themes
This chapter in full of actions that show Gatsby's chase of the American dream. this being the main theme in the chapter, Gatsby shows off his outstanding wealth and possessions in order to win Daisy's heart. Gatsby brings out his clothing, most of all the staggering pile of shirts he shows Daisy. "While we admired he brought more and the soft rich heap mounted higher-" (p.97). Gatsby reflects the neverending chase of the American dream as he shows off his huge amount of material possessions, and tries to find long lost love in Daisy's heart. Gatsby doesn't seem at peace with his life, and he believes that being with Daisy will fix this. In short, Gatsby searches for true happiness, showing one of the key components in the American Dream

Chapter 3 Themes
In this chapter Nick shows us the experience of his first visit at Gatsby's house for a party. You can see the corruption in the party as most of the people come uninvited to this large and wild party, as alcholic beverages are served throughout the night as well. This chapter It also shows the lack of a relationship and proper communication that Gatsby has with his visitors. "Sometimes they came and went without having met Gatsby at all, came for a party with a simplicity of heart that was its own ticket of admission" (p.45). The American Dream mindset is extremely evident as people come to Gatsby's house to live in the moment, drink, and have a good time (most people not even recieving an official invitation). Only concerned with having a night to remember and taking advantage of Gatsby's kindness, most people at the party exhibit the carefree mindset typical of those chasing the American dream.

Chapter 1 Themes
In Chapter 1 of the Great Gasby one of the main themes seen is the portaryal of the american dream. Nick moves into the city in order to seek out a new life, become successful, and chase after his hopes and ambitions while he gets his life in order. He starts fresh in order to grow and prosper and thinks by moving he will be able to straighten his life. In chapter one we also see life in the 1920's. As Nick spends time with Tom the lack of morality and continuously occuring corruption of the age is plainly seen. alchohol, adultury, and a sense of rebellion are all common, which give the readers insight to the type of living promoted at the time

Initial Reponse to Great Gasby
The Great Gasby took me a couple chapters to get into. Initially the story started off slow, but then it picked up. I like how mysterious Gatsby appears in the story, it intrigues the reader to stay interested in the book. I also enjoyed the wide variety of characters, from Jordan and Myrtle, to Tom and Daisy. There is a wide array of personalitites and relationships between them which also kept me interested. Hopefully, the book will pick up as Gatsby reveals more about himself and his unusual actions
Man Vs. Wild Day 2
Im still here, struggling and fighting to survive against a world full of aggressive blogs. This morning I was attacked by a sabretooth blog on my way to the mango tree. Hopefully I can struggle to regain sanity. While I was out finding water I realized I needed to edit my settings.
